Grey-Water Drainage Solutions, an ever-expanding company in efficient wastewater management in the UK, has strategically bolstered its fleet by acquiring the advanced 7.5t Jetvac Combination Unit tanker. This move significantly enhances the ability of Grey-Water Drainage to offer comprehensive in-house services, thereby reducing dependency on external contractors and boosting operational efficiency across both commercial and residential projects in their service areas of Kent, Essex, Sussex, and South-East London.

The 7.5t Jetvac Combination Unit features a dual compartment water tank with a 3,000-litre capacity, segmented into 2,000 litres for waste and 1,000 litres for clean water. Equipped with a robust vacuum pump, this unit is excellently poised for efficiently tackling heavily polluted pipes, grease traps, water wells, and even managing flooded basements for Grey-Water Drainage’s commercial and residential clients.

Grey-Water Drainage now boasts a fleet of tankers, including vehicles with capacities of 7.5, 18, and 32 tonnes. This means they can accurately plan for the sites they visit, utilising the larger capacity vehicles for bigger drain clearance projects, and the smaller capacity vehicles for accessing narrow paths and dealing with lower volumes of wastewater, preventing repeat trips.

Compact Powerhouse for Urban Environments

The Jetvac's compact design is ideal for navigating through busy cities and areas with strict low emissions or restricted access, serving as an economical and agile alternative to larger vehicles and allowing Grey-Water to access areas they previously couldn’t, or would have needed extensions for. This suitability for urban applications is further enhanced by its EURO-6 compliant Mitsubishi Fuso Canter chassis, ensuring it meets the most stringent urban emissions standards.

Technological and Operational Advancements

This Jetvac unit includes a fully opening tank door and a hydraulically pivoted high-pressure hose reel, making it versatile for immediate deployment in extensive water management tasks, contributing to faster and more efficient call-out times Grey-Water’s engineers. Its 17-meter suction hose is directly connected to the tank, allowing for quick transitions between waste disposal and clean water flushing—an essential feature for Grey-Water’s drainage tanker services.

Chris Guilfoyle, Managing Director, highlighted the strategic importance of this acquisition: "The Jetvac not only increases our operational autonomy but also reduces our environmental footprint. It's a transformative addition to our fleet that enhances our response capabilities and service quality to our clients. It also allows us to get into bustling centres like London, Tunbridge Wells, and Canterbury more efficiently."

By incorporating the 7.5t Jetvac Combination Unit into its operations, Grey-Water Drainage Solutions has made a significant leap towards complete in-house service provision. This transition not only curtails the costs associated with external equipment rental but also fortifies its capacity to handle all aspects of their business, delivering high quality services that are so sought after by public authorities, highway networks, private companies, and domestic clients. With this upgrade, Grey-Water Drainage continues to lead in delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions that meet the evolving needs of their clientele.
